My name is Nicole Silva,
Nicole is the head baker and founder of Crumbles. The former elementary school teacher, wife and mother of 3 girls, stumbled upon this cookie baking adventure by accident while planning her daughters 3rd birthday party. I've always been on the creative side, but I never found the perfect medium until I decorated my first cookie in 2011.
My daughter was having a ballet themed party and I wanted everything to be perfect. I took all the furniture out of our living room and transformed it into a ballet studio, complete with mirrors and bars. I looked up dance routines on YouTube and got a wig and tutu for myself so that I could play the part of Madame Tutu. I know, I'm crazy, but I love a good party… lol. I was determined to make her decorated cookies to match our party theme. After a month of practicing and experimenting with recipes, I finally had it. She loved her cookies, and so did her friends! After that, I was hooked. I made cookies for everything and everyone.
When I agreed to do a fundraiser for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society through their Team In Training program someone suggested that I use this new found skill to help me raise funds for cancer research. That's when Cookies For a Cure was born. Through Cookies For a Cure I was able to raise thousands of dollars for LLS. This was the beginning of my cookie business dream. Thousands of cookies later… my dream became a reality and in January of 2014 I started Crumbles.
In 2015 I competed on ABC's The Great Holiday Baking Show, where I made it to the finale. All four of these shows are available on abc.com and also on HULU. After appearing on the show I decided to start offering more than just cookies. I realized I loved being a baker of all things.
On November 16, 2016 I opened a storefront… much sooner than expected. I can't wait to see how this new journey will unfold.
